Uncharted 2 Multiplayer Beta Details Revealed

Electronic Arts has officially announced that an open beta test for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will be held this coming March, allowing PC gamers to experience a taste of the upcoming World War II shooter before its release in October.

The announcement was made via EA's official blog yesterday evening and revealed further details about what players can expect from the beta itself. According to Electronic Arts:

'Players who pre-order Battlefield: Bad Company 2 on Origin (Electronic Arts' digital distribution service) or at participating retailers will be granted access to a special 'VIP Kit.' This exclusive kit includes a variety of in-game items, including early access to the full game one week before its scheduled release date. Additionally, VIP players will also receive an exclusive 'X-Terminal Vehicle Skin,' which allows their vehicle to stand out from other vehicles on the battlefield.'

EA further added that those who pre-order the Limited Edition version of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 through Origin or at participating retailers will not only receive all of these previously mentioned bonuses, but they will also gain access to an exclusive 'VIP Kit Bonus Pack.' This bonus pack includes a variety of additional in-game items, including:

* A unique 'Spartan-117 Lieutenant Rank' and corresponding insignia

* Exclusive multiplayer skins for both the US Marine and Soviet forces

The beta itself is expected to be available on PC via Origin starting March 23rd at 10am PST (Pacific Standard Time) / 5pm GMT (Green Mean Time). According to Electronic Arts, players can pre-order Battlefield: Bad Company 2 through their website or local retailers now in order to reserve a spot.

Electronic Arts has yet to officially announce an exact release date for the beta test itself, but based on previous announcements from other major game publishers such as Activision Blizzard with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Electronic Arts themselves with Need For Speed: Shift 2 - The Ultimate Edition earlier this year, it is safe to assume that players will have plenty of time leading up to its scheduled release date in October to get their hands dirty.
